The Marina on Harper's Island.

The Marina on Harper's Island is located in Shelton's Bay on the East side of the Island, providing a safe harbor for commercial and recreational boats.

Background

During the 2001 murders, after killing fisherman Harris Antonini, John Wakefield caused an explosion at the Marina, in which Sheriff's Deputy Joshua Aiken was killed and Deputy Cole Harkin was badly burned. After arriving on the scene, Harbormaster Christopher Cullen was chased into the woods and murdered, along with several others.

Recent Events

In "Whap," the Tarapunga docks at the Marina, bringing the Dunn-Wellington wedding party to the Island. Jimmy Mance's fishing boat, the Sea-Jay, is berthed nearby, and he greets Abby Mills on the dock. Later, Jimmy and Shane Pierce work on Jimmy's boat, discussing the upcoming wedding, and Jimmy helps remove a rope tangled in the Tarapunga's rudder. In "Crackle," Henry Dunn meets with Jimmy at the Marina to discuss the conflict between his brother, J.D., and Shane, and Henry invites Jimmy and Shane to a bonfire party.

In "Ka-Blam," Thomas Wellington meets Hunter Jennings on the dock at the Marina, handing him a check and warning him not to speak to Trish again. Hunter then boards a small boat and leaves the Island. In "Thrack, Splat, Sizzle," Abby visits Jimmy at the Marina, and the two discuss their past.

In "Gurgle," Christopher "Sully" Sullivan leads Beth Barrington, Cal Vandeusen, and Chloe Carter to the Marina to find a boat in which to leave the Island. The group has second thoughts, and, as they discuss the situation, they notice J.D. Dunn running along the docks. Sully is joined by Abby and Jimmy to hunt for J.D., and Abby finds J.D. lying on the dock, bleeding from a wound to the abdomen.

The gas reservoirs ignite. ("Snap")

In "Snap," after finding Madison Allen alive and discovering that Katherine Wellington has been murdered, Henry asks Jimmy to ready his boat for the group to depart from the Island. Jimmy and Shane go to the Marina to refuel the boat, where Shane discovers the bodies of two State Police officers who have been killed. When Shane starts the generator, it sparks, and he yells at Jimmy to get away from the pump. Gas reservoirs all over the Marina ignite, destroying all the boats. As the remainder of the group arrives at the Marina, they witness the explosion. They immediately come under sniper fire and seek cover inside the Cannery bar. Later in "Sigh," the Coast Guard instructs Sully and Henry to meet them at the rally point at the Marina.

Sometime later, FBI criminologists are shown at the Marina, leaving the Island after completing their on-site investigation, unaware that Henry is holding Abby and Jimmy in a house elsewhere on the Island.

Trivia

The marina shown in the Harper's Island television series is at Snug Cove on Bowen Island, BC, near Vancouver, Canada; however, the scenes of the arrival of the Tarapunga on Harper's Island ("Whap") and the explosion of the gas dock ("Snap") were filmed at the Deep Cove North Shore Marina in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
