Candlewick Inn
From Harper's Globe Wiki
The Candlewick Inn is the main event location on Harper's Island, and is the main setting for the television series, Harper's Island.
Background
The Inn was built during Prohibition on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, or, more specifically, Puget Sound. In addition to hotel rooms and suites in the main building, there are ten private bungalows on the Inn's extensive landscaped grounds. The Inn, managed by Maggie Krell, was selected by Trish Wellington and Henry Dunn as the primary venue for the festivities associated with their destination wedding on Harper's Island.
Recent Events
In "Whap," as the wedding guests arrive at the Inn, Maggie welcomes Henry and then notices that Abby Mills has returned to the Island for Henry's wedding after being away for seven years. That evening, Abby returns to her room in the Inn and finds a newspaper clipping about her mother's murder taped to the bathroom mirror.
In "Crackle," Trish runs to join the wedding guests assembled on the terrace of the Inn to begin a scavenger hunt. While the guests participate in the scavenger hunt, Trish leads Henry into the Inn's kitchen to play with some chocolate. Later, Henry returns to his cabin at the Inn to discover blood on the floor and a deer head in the bathtub. He quickly cleans it up before Trish sees it.
In "Ka-Blam," Thomas Wellington, Richard Allen, and Henry shoot skeet on the front lawn of the Inn. Cal Vandeusen and Chloe Carter play a joke on Christopher "Sully" Sullivan in the Inn's spa. Later, a note is slid under Trish's door, seemingly from Hunter Jennings, requesting her to meet him in room 214. Trish walks to the room and begins to open the room's door, but heads back after noticing her engagement ring. A nervous Henry waits inside, watching the shadows from Trish's feet.
In "Bang," Shea and Madison Allen meet at the Inn with a psychic, Karena Fox, who has been asked to entertain guests at the bachelorette party. Trish discovers Richard and Katherine Wellington together in the Inn's cellar. Later that night, Trish is saved by Richard after she nearly drowns in the pool at the Inn when the pool cover closes prematurely.
In "Thwack," Henry takes care of wedding details at the Inn, as Trish and Thomas go for a bike ride. Madison and J.D. Dunn play a prank on Henry and Maggie with firecrackers on the Inn's terrace.
In "Sploosh," the wedding party returns to the Inn after Thomas's death, where Sheriff Mills questions several members of the wedding party. J.D. startles Abby in her room, and takes her to find Uncle Marty's body in the woods. The Sheriff locks J.D. in the Inn's pantry, but he is freed by Madison. That night, Richard is impaled through the back by a harpoon as he talks on his cell phone by the Inn's pool.
In "Thrack, Splat, Sizzle," Sheriff Mills searches rooms at the Inn, finding Uncle Marty's cell phone in J.D.'s bag. Malcolm tries to flee with the stolen money, but is caught by Sully and Danny Brooks. Madison receives a note under her door, and she follows its instructions to a room in the Inn. As she enters, the door slams shut behind her.
In "Gurgle," as the wedding guests prepare to leave the Island, Shea announces that Madison is missing, and the others begin looking for her. Shea, Trish, Cal, and Chloe search for Madison in the Inn's basement, where they find an adult human skull in the incinerator. When they have no luck finding Madison, the group reconvenes at the Inn. The power goes out, and Henry and Danny start the Inn's generator.
In "Seep," Shane Pierce joins the group at the Inn, and causes conflict when Abby discovers that she may be John Wakefield's daughter. Beth Barrington goes missing, and the group discovers a blood trail leading to a room behind the Inn's kitchen, where they find an entrance to a series of underground tunnels built during prohibition. In the tunnels, they find Beth dead, but they find Madison alive. In the confusion, Katherine is stabbed and killed with a pair of hedge trimmers in the solarium.
In "Snap," the group decides to leave the Island in Jimmy Mance's boat. After the Marina explodes, they take refuge in the Cannery. Later, Jimmy is delivered to the Cannery, unconscious, with a key to Abby's room at the Inn (#209) taped to his hand. Abby goes alone to the Inn, where she finds her father in her room, and she learns he traded his life for Jimmy's. Sheriff Mills is pulled backward through the window. When Abby runs outside the Inn to find her father hanging dead, John Wakefield confronts her.
In "Splash," after Chloe is kidnapped by Wakefield and taken into the underground tunnels, Sully and Danny go to the Inn to block the tunnel exit in the kitchen. As they board up the opening, someone bangs on the door, and they empty their shotguns, making several openings in the door. They reluctantly decide that they must re-enter the tunnels to protect their friends.
In "Gasp," after Wakefield is captured and the Coast Guard has been contacted, Henry takes Trish back to the Inn, where she showers. She decides to put on her wedding dress, and she and Henry kiss and lie down on the couch together. Henry goes to investigate a knock at the door and leaves Trish alone in the cabin. While he is gone, Wakefield breaks into the cabin, and Trish escapes through a window and runs away into the woods, chased by Wakefield. Trish finds Henry in the woods, but Henry stabs and kills her.
