Shea Allen (née Wellington) was married to Richard Allen, and is the mother of Madison Allen. She is the daughter of Thomas Wellington, and is Trish Wellington's older sister. She was to be the matron of honor at the wedding. Shea is one of only a few survivors of the Harper's Island killing spree.

On the Island

As the boat, the Tarapunga, carrying the wedding party to Harper's Island is boarding in Seattle, Shea tells her sister Trish how excited she is about Trish's wedding to Henry Dunn ("Whap"). She is interrupted by screams from two of the bridesmaids after her daughter, Madison, plays a trick on them. Shea scolds Madison and then returns her conversation with Trish. Later, on the Island at the Candlewick Inn, Trish tells Shea that her former boyfriend, Hunter Jennings, has contacted her, and Shea tells Trish not to keep secrets from Henry.

In "Bang," Shea meets with Karena Fox, a psychic she has arranged to entertain the guests at the bachelorette party, giving her a list of birthdates for the attendees. Later, Shea surprises Trish with their late mother's tea set that she has had shipped from Palm Beach. Maggie Krell pulls Trish and Shea away from the rest of the women to the patio to find all of their mother's china shattered. Shea suspects Madison may be responsible.

After the death of her father, Thomas Wellington, Shea returns to the Candlewick with the others, where Trish reveals that Shea's husband, Richard, is having an affair with their step-mother, Katherine. Trish attempts to comfort Shea, who comments that her father was generous to Richard. After Sheriff Mills questions Madison about her father's alibi for Thomas's murder, Madison asks Shea if Richard will be proud of her for lying to the Sheriff, telling him they were together that morning.

As the wedding guests prepare to leave the Island ("Gurgle"), Shea announces that Madison is missing, and the members of the wedding party split up to search for her. At the Inn, Maggie shows Shea and Trish the room she gave Richard, which shows no signs of being used. Trish reassures Shea that both Richard and Madison will be found. Cal Vandeusen and Chloe Carter meet up with Shea and Trish searching the Inn, and Cal suggests that Madison may have gone to the basement. When they arrive at the incinerator in the Inn's basement, they discover a bloody hand print on the door. Cal opens the door of the incinerator and discovers a skull inside. Shea begins to cry, but Cal informs them that the skull is that of an adult. When they have no luck finding Madison, the wedding party reassembles at the Candlewick. Sully questions why they all need to stay on the Island and remain in danger to search for Madison, and Trish slaps him. When Trish, Shea, and Katherine go to the kitchen to make some tea, Sully, Chloe, Beth, and Cal sneak out to the marina to look for a boat in which to leave the Island. After Henry and Danny successfully start the generator, they return to find only Trish, Shea, and Katherine inside the Inn. Henry departs for the the marina to stop Sully, Chloe, Beth, and Cal, leaving Danny Brooks to stand guard at the Candlewick.

After a number of hours, Beth and Sully return to the Candlewick ("Seep"). Shea argues with Sully about his attempt to leave while Madison is still missing. After finding a tarot card in her room, Shea resolves to find Karena and leaves the Candlewick. After Trish realizes that Shea is missing, she steals Shane Pierce's truck to look for her. Trish later spots Shea and drives up alongside her, asking her to get inside. Trish convinces Shea to return with her to the Inn. As they drive along in the truck, Trish notes the sun rising and tries to console Shea. The truck drives over a manhole grate, and Madison's hand pops out of the grate. Shea looks into the side mirror, noticing Madison's hand, and tells Trish to stop. Shea and Trish run to Madison, and Shea grabs her hand. They also find Abby Mills there, who has found Madison while searching the underground tunnels. After Trish and Shea rescue Madison and Abby, they return to the Candlewick, and the others run out to meet them. After Madison reveals that Sheriff Mills was the one who kidnapped her, Shea cleans Madison's face and questions her about the "game" the Sheriff was playing ("Splash"). After Katherine is found dead, the group prepares to leave the Island in Jimmy Mance's boat. When the Marina explodes, the group takes cover at The Cannery. Abby brings Madison some tea and questions her about her kidnapper. Shea yells at Abby to stay away from Madison. Later, Shea asks Madison about John Wakefield, learning how he befriended Madison. Madison asks about her father, and Shea confirms that he was murdered. Shea then assures Madison that Abby is going to be fine.

Wakefield breaks into The Cannery and kills Nikki Bolton. Shane fights with Wakefield, as Chloe, Shea, and Madison climb out a bathroom window, while Trish covers the bathroom door with a shotgun. Trish leads the group into Charlie Mills's Attic, securing the stairs behind them. When they hear the churchbell ring, Trish and Chloe assume that it may be a signal for help from the others, and they head to the Church, leaving Shea and Madison in the attic.

After Madison begins rummaging through Sheriff Mills's files, Shea scolds her, but then realizes that Madison has found a file on Jimmy Mance. In the file, Shea discovers an arrest report in which Jimmy is questioned regarding a murder in Seattle. After Wakefield is captured ("Gasp"), Abby retrieves Shea and Madison from the attic and brings them to the Sheriff's office. When Henry tells the group that Trish and Jimmy are missing, Shea mentions Jimmy's criminal record, causing everyone to suspect him. As the remainder of the group leave to rescue Trish at the bluffs, Danny remains with Shea and Madison at the Sheriff's office. Meanwhile, Wakefield has managed to escape his bindings. As Danny and Madison play cards while discussing Hansel and Gretel, Wakefield emerges from the holding area and pulls a belt around Danny's neck. Shea runs to Madison as Danny attempts to fight Wakefield off. Shea prepares to shoot Wakefield as Danny manages to free himself by hitting Wakefield with a phone. Danny grabs the gun, telling Shea to run. Shea runs out with Madison as Wakefield fights with Danny.

Shea and Madison meet up with Abby and Jimmy in the woods, telling them of Wakefield's escape and Danny's bravery. Abby sends Shea and Madison to the boathouse to let the Coast Guard know about Wakefield. Jimmy gives Shea his rifle before they part ways. Shea and Madison arrive at the boathouse and inform Sully that Wakefield has escaped ("Sigh"). Sully continues to suspect Jimmy. He asks about Danny, and Shea informs him that Danny fought off Wakefield to help them escape. Sully notes the boat hanging in the boathouse and decides to use it to leave the Island. Sully launches the boat into the water and attempts to rev up the engine. Shea begs Sully to join them, but he refuses. Shea attempts to turn back as well, but Sully reminds her to think of Madison first, and he pushes the boat forward. Sully then radios the Coast Guard, telling them to be on the lookout for Shea and Madison heading East from Harper's Island in a small boat.

Sometime later, Shea and Madison sit in a conference room in the Seattle FBI field office. Agent Ana Perez takes Madison outside as Shea is told by Agent Hanson that Trish, Henry, Abby, and Jimmy have been discovered dead in the charred remains of the church, and that, after an extensive investigation, over 20 bodies have been found on the Island.
