Ben Wellington (commonly known by the Wellington family as Cousin Ben) was cousin to Shea Allen and Trish Wellington.
On his way to the boat, Ben stops at a bar and meets up with his friend Brent Cyr, who is there with his girlfriend Robin Matthews. Ben and Brent get drunk, loud, and obnoxious, leaving Robin with a bad impression of Ben. He tells Brent he's in town for Trish's wedding to Henry Dunn.
Death
Ben is the first character to die on Harper's Island. In "Whap", on his way to the Tarapunga, Ben is tied to the propeller shaft underwater by Henry. An oxygen tank is tied to him, torturing him until his death. When the boat begins to move, Ben is mutilated and beheaded by the propeller as it leaves port in Seattle.
Later, a cart of oxygen tanks is seen being rolled into the Candlewick Inn, proving that Ben's killer is on the Island.
